Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist – Networking & Monitoring to support and optimize our clients’ complex, large-scale network infrastructures. In this role, you will serve as a front-line escalation point within our 24x7 global NOC, ensuring maximum service availability, rapid incident response, and world-class monitoring.
You will leverage advanced monitoring and service management platforms, including LogicMonitor, ServiceNow, and CMDB tools—to enhance network visibility, diagnose issues, and improve operational reliability across our global client base. Knowledge of additional monitoring platforms such as Nagios or Auvik is a strong plus.
What You’ll Do
Network Monitoring, Incident Response & Escalation
- Monitor and maintain large-scale networks using enterprise monitoring platforms such as LogicMonitor (and with knowledge of platforms like Nagios, Auvik, SolarWinds, etc.).
- Serve as a second-level escalation point for client network issues via ServiceNow, ensuring timely triage, analysis, and resolution.
- ·Utilize CMDB data for analysis, dependency mapping, and incident correlation.
- Manage event correlation, false-positive/negative tuning, and escalation workflows to ensure high- quality alerting.
- Coordinate closely with support and engineering teams to troubleshoot monitoring issues and ensure effective delivery of monitoring services.
Network Engineering & Infrastructure Operations
- Architect and configure MPLS, SD-WAN, client VPN, and site-to-site VPN solutions.
- Implement firmware and Windows patching to maintain security and performance.
- Provision customer network services including IP assignments, DNS setup, and core network configuration.
- Manage and optimize cloud networking workloads on the Azure platform, with knowledge of Microsoft Purview considered a benefit.
- Provide technical expertise across Cisco and Fortinet network technologies.
Monitoring Systems Administration
- Develop and maintain LogicMonitor dashboards, alert rules, monitoring profiles, and custom integrations aligned to client needs.
- Administer multiple monitoring systems while maintaining high availability, performance, and configuration hygiene.
- Drive configuration, release, and change management activities for monitoring systems.
- Deploy new monitoring products, scripts, and integrations to expand capabilities.
- Documentation, Knowledge Sharing & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain client knowledgebase articles, runbooks, and operational documentation.
- Stay current with emerging monitoring technologies, automation tools, and industry trends.
- Analyze client data and escalation reports to identify patterns, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to team skill development through knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and presentations.
Shift & Coverage Responsibilities
- Participate in a 24x7 shift rotation and call-out support schedule as needed.
What You Bring
Core Technical Skills
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with LogicMonitor, including dashboard development, alert optimization, and monitoring system administration.
- Experience monitoring large-scale networks and performing enterprise-grade fault isolation.
- Cisco CCNA and Fortinet NSE4 certifications.
- Proficiency in architecting and configuring MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN technologies.
- Hands-on experience with firmware and Windows patching.
- Strong understanding of network topologies, standards, and infrastructure.
- Familiarity with SAN technologies (Nimble, VNXe) is a plus.
Monitoring & Systems Competencies
- Experience administering monitoring systems (LogicMonitor required; knowledge of platforms such as Nagios, Auvik, or SolarWinds is preferred).
- Experience working with ServiceNow for incident, event, and escalation management.
- Understanding of CMDB structures and how they support incident correlation and dependency mapping.
- Awareness or exposure to Microsoft Purview for governance/compliance considerations.
Professional & Collaboration Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong project management discipline and ability to manage concurrent tasks with minimal oversight.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within global teams.
- Commitment to operational excellence, continuous learning, and diversity/inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a NOC environment supporting colocation, leased lines, backups, and network services.
- Advanced LogicMonitor customization experience.
- Exposure to cloud networking concepts within Azure or multi-cloud environments.
- Additional certifications in networking, cloud, or monitoring technologies.
