Position Overview 

 

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the submission and review of firmwide timekeeper approvals. The Timekeeper Approval Specialist will monitor data feeds and process new timekeeper requests to ensure that the client does not reject and/or requires supporting documentation. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.

 

What You’ll Do

·         Review client billing guidelines for timekeeper approval

·         Ensure timely timekeeper approval submission to vendor sites (e.g. TyMetrix360, Collaborati, etc.)

·         Research, reconcile, and review timekeeper uploads for accuracy

·         Respond to timekeeper approval inquiries and collaborate with local offices to address and resubmit timekeepers as appropriate to billing vendors

·         Assist Attorneys and their assistants with timekeeper approval related inquiries

·         Ensure that all timekeeper approval submissions are compliant with the billing guidelines and that all required supporting documentation is compiled prior to submission.

·         Monitor and immediately address any timekeeper rejections, and those needing resubmission

·         Undertake special projects and ad hoc reports as needed and/or requested.

 

Skills & Competencies

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation

·         Proficiency in navigating and supporting multiple client systems, platforms, and tools seamlessly

·         Ability to anticipate work needs; proactive in identifying timekeeper approval issues and providing possible solutions

·         Effectively prioritize workload and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

·         Highly motivated self-starter who can work well under minimal supervision, who uses good judgment and has excellent follow-up skills.

·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Participate in weekly calls with leadership to review open issues and determine process improvements.

 

 Qualifications & Prior Experience

 

·         Associates Degree or equivalent experience is preferred

·         1-3 years’ experience with billing or other detailed accounting work

·         Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required

·         Advance skills utilizing software, experience with client portals preferred
